Microsoft To-Do for Mac now integrates with Microsoft Planner (via OnMSFT). The integration allows you to create tasks in Planner and have them show up within a special 'Assigned to Me' section inside Microsoft To-Do.
The integration between the services goes beyond syncing details. If you look at a task in Microsoft To-Do and need to see more details such as comments and file attachments you can select 'Open in Planner' to jump into Microsoft Planner.
